The Tea Shed, Walberswick
The Tea Shed is situated in the pretty coastal village of Walberswick. We caught up with the manager, Georgia Smith to find out more about her business.
Can you tell us a little bit about The Tea Shed?
The Tea Shed is a lovely little cafe in Walberswick, with a large garden to the side! We make light lunches, sausage rolls, cakes and scones, and the best bit is that everything is homemade by us on site so you won’t find fresher. I’m so proud of the team we have working here and I don’t think you’ll find a more dedicated, hard working bunch of people.
What makes The Tea Shed unique?
That would have to be our huge range of loose leaf teas. At last count I think we had 36 differant flavours and we are always getting more! My favourite is the Malibu Dream tea which tastes like pineapple and coconut. It’s delicious!

What’s not to be missed?
Over the first lockdown, Renee learnt how to temper chocolate, which led to our own range of chocolate bars, truffles and hot chocolate bombs, which were a huge hit over Christmas! If you pay us a visit, be sure to pick something up to try because you definitely don’t want to miss out on those!
Can you give us a random fact about The Tea Shed?
A fact about us that you might not know is that we are totally dog friendly – inside and out! We are all dog people and we love when they come to visit us. We’ve always got dog treats in our pocket!
After visiting, where would you recommend to go for a walk?
When you leave us be sure to check out the crabbing spots near the beach. In the summer mionths you can pick up lines and bait from the village shop and see what you can catch! Just be sure to put the crabs back in the water afterwards, and be gentle with them.
What is your favourite thing to do in Suffolk on your day off?
Hang out on the beach with my daughter, who is almost 2. We are lucky enough to live in Walberswick and have this beautiful beach on our doorstep, so we like to take full advantage of that!
