Huntingfield Estates, Framlingham
Huntingfield Estates is situated in the market town of Framlingham. We caught up with the owner, Becky Eglinton to find out more about her business.
Can you tell us a little bit about your business?
Huntingfield Estates has been open in the Market Square in Framlingham since 2013 and we sell property of all shapes and sizes from cottages to castles – given half the chance! When I was younger we had a holiday home at the nearby village of Huntingfield and so I decided it would be the perfect name for my company.
What makes Huntingfield Estates unique?
Our business is unique in the fact that we are an “all girl ” team apart from Richard our “floorplan man” and Banjo the male mascot!! In all seriousness our motto is ‘Who cares as much as you …….WE DO’ and we really mean it and are happy to go the extra mile. We also donate to Hour Community in Framlingham every month and have just bought a tuk tuk which we loan to them to deliver prescriptions, food, and hopefully, when the lockdown is over, to use for outings.
What do you love most about what you do?
I love having my own business, even though it can be 24/7. I like to be able to match people with places, and the happiness when you pass over the key on completion day never ceases to pall. As a business we are so lucky as we get lots of thank you cards and testimonials from both our purchasers and vendors saying what a pleasurable experience it has been. We try and make it as stress free as possible.
What gave you the inspiration for your business?
My father was a great inspiration. He used to drag me round as a child to look at property, which grew into an obsession for me really. We used to talk houses till the cows came home and I just wish he had been alive to see me open my own agency.
Where would you recommend to grabbing a coffee locally?
We are so lucky in Framlingham as we have independent shops and restaurants so would recommend The Common Room just off the Market Square, The Crown Hotel in the Market Square or the Dancing Goat opposite. On Saturdays we still have a vibrant market and there is a fabulous coffee stall and a further shop called Dust with Cocoa making fab brownies.
What is your favourite thing to do in Suffolk on your day off?
As a keen amateur photographer, my favourite thing to do in Suffolk is to grab my camera and head to the beach or Minsmere, forests or fields, stopping to snap anything that catches my eye. I am so lucky to live in this amazing part of the world with so much to see and do.
